Hey guys, it's been a while since my last post. So here I am again. This time I'll be sharing a useful trick for XP users out there. For those of you that have a Windows Genuine Icon (the blue star icon) in your system tray (as shown in the picture below), you can try this registry.

This is a registry that will make your xp genuine. Just double click on the registry file and click yes. Then try to point at the blue star (Windows Genuine Icon). It will disappear, if it is still there then try to restart your pc. As for me, I just pointed the mouse cursor at the blue star and it's gone. So there you go...feel free to download, and tell me the results. This is a 2kb file, so it can be downloaded in few secs or maybe 1 sec? Lol

Show Desktop Icon in Windows 7

Are you guys annoyed with the new Show Desktop function in Windows 7? Yeah me too, the old button is gone. It's now moved to the bottom right of your screen. For me, it is so inconvenience because everything is on the left and suddenly if you want to go back to the desktop you have to move your cursor to the bottom right of your screen. However, there is also another way to make all your windows minimize (except the active window). Shaking the active window with your mouse will minimize all the other windows, by doing this you can see your desktop and the active window at once.

If you guys still want the old Show Desktop button, it is still possible. I'll show you how to pin the Show Desktop icon properly into your taskbar. I mean not the method that gives you a strange placement of the icon in the taskbar (image below).

The right placement of the icon will look like this :

So lets get started, shall we? Follow the steps...

1. Pin any icon to the taskbar.
2. Download the Show Desktop icon here or you can also do it yourself.

To do it yourself, open Notepad and paste the following code:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

When you save the file, select All Files from the drop down menu, and name the icon Desktop.scf

Whether you download or create the desktop file yourself, make sure to save it into this directory:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

4) Edit the Target Field to the following. Change the field yourusername to your Computer name. You can find this by opening the Start Menu and looking at the first item in the darkened area.

Computer name is shown as the first item on the right side (win7 for me)

Paste this code into the Target Field of your pinned icon properties. Make sure to change yourusername.

C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar\Desktop.scf

5) Now we need to change the icon. Click on Change Icon and paste the following code into the Browse field and press Enter:

The Show Desktop icon is located somewhere near the middle. This was where mine is located:

6) You can also rename your icon to Show Desktop so you don’t get confused when editing the taskbar later on.

7) Your icon in the Taskbar will not change unless you log off and log back in or end the explorer.exe process in Task Manager. Regardless, the icon should function like the old “Show Desktop” icon.

If you’re a fan of keyboard shortcuts, Win+D shows the desktop too.

Restore and Recover Deleted Scenes In Windows Live Messenger 2009

Lol, i just found this shit and it was kinda stupid and funny but it works. I wanted to restore the messenger 2009 scenes. Read it....

I accidentally deleted few of the scenes in Messenger 2009. I tried to reinstall the Messenger but it didn't solve my problem. So I googled around and I found the solution. Guess what?????

To restore the scene in Messenger 2009, you have to delete all the scenes except the default scene (because it can't be deleted). Then shutdown the messenger and sign in again. Yup, that should solve your problem! No kidding....!

If you think this is joke, please read all the comments. Thank you...oh by the way please drop a comment too, to help others believe that this works.

Solving the "Freshdownload could not take over the download! Click back to return to normal mode" Mozilla Firefox Issue

This morning, after installing Flashget 1.73 and and the Firefox plugin/addon called Flashgot, I kept on receiving an annoying message saying "freshdownload could not take over the download! Click back to return to normal mode". I googled around and I managed to solve it. So here goes...

If you receive that annoying message, try to solve it by using this method:

1. Close your Firefox
2. Go inside your Firefox directory (default dir C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox)
3. Go inside the Firefox plugins directory (default dir C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins)
4. Delete a ".dll" file that contains fd in it (usually the file is npfd.dll or fdplugin.dll)

You might be asking, why do I hafta delete the dll file that contains fd in it? The answer is, that is the Fresh Download plugin and it's preventing you to download in the normal way.

If you got the Fresh Download program installed, try to uninstall it first then follow the method above or you can go here .

DALnet IRC Server - Malaysian Connection Problems

According to DALnet stuff (lorddracula), there are reports that some Malaysian IRC users are having difficulties connecting to DALnet. However, there are also reports that Malaysian users can connect to DALnet using matrix.dal.net and arcor.dal.net.

So, Malaysians please type /s arcor.dal.net 6667 or /s matrix.dal.net 6667 at your irc status! For more info please click here

Change Windows XP Product Key

I found this thing when I wanted to change my Win XP key to another key. There is a key changer that you may download from the Microsoft's website, but it's useless. So, i googled around and found this trick. It worked!

It is very useful nowadays because the student key v2c47-MK7JD.........is not genuine anymore. So in order to change it, you might be needing this method otherwise you have to reformat your computer and install it with a new key. This method worked like a charm. It's not that difficult though....

Here it is

Click on Start and then Run.
In the text box in the Run window, type regedit and click OK. This will open the Registry Editor program.
Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder under My Computer and click on the (+) sign next the folder name to expand the folder.
Continue to expand folders until you reach the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\WPAEvents registry key.
Click on the WPAEvents folder.
In the results that appear in the window on the right, locate OOBETimer.
Double click on the OOBETimer.
Change at least one digit in the Value data text box and click OK. This will deactivate Windows XP (yeah just type anything and OK)
Click on Start and then Run.
In the text box in the Run window, type the following command and click OK.

When the Windows Product Activation window appears, choose Yes, I want to telephone a customer service representative to activate Windows and then click Next.
Click Change Product Key.
Type your new, valid Windows XP product key in the New key text boxes and then click Update.
If you're taken back to the previous screen and prompted, choose Remind me later.
Restart your PC.

Auto End Tasks for Fast Shutdown in Windows Xp

This is an useful trick for your Windows XP. To enable this, follow the instructions:-

1. Go to Start

2. Go to Run

3. Type regedit, then click OK or just Enter

4. Double click on HKEY_USERS

5. Double click on .DEFAULT

6. Double click on Control Panel

7. Single click on Desktop

8. On your right, search for AutoEndTasks and double click on it.

9. Change the value to 1 (the default value is 0) and click OK.

That's it, you can also try to tweak several other tricks, for example:-

Open your registry and do the followings (same method as above) :-

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management]

"ClearPageFileAtShutdown"

Double click and change it from 0 to 1

---------------------------------------------

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control]

Double click and change it from 20000 to 1000

How to install Hamachi

There are few steps on how to install this application. I will guide you from scratch.

1. Download the HamachiSetup-1.0.3.0-en.zip from my blog (or you can also download the installer (.exe) from its official site.

2. Unzip the file (if you downloaded the zip file !). Extract it to the desktop.

3. Double click on the HamachiSetup-1.0.3.0-en.

4. The rest of the steps will be guided with pics :). The red square requires you to click the spot on the original installation's interface.

Click Next

Yup click on the box and then Next

Ok no red square means do not do anything. Take a look at this pic.

Aha got several red squares means several clicks. Create the shortcut on the desktop will do. You dont have to start hamachi automatically. Then click Next.

Yup check the disable vulnerable Win services over Hamachi and then Next.

The default setting is the 2nd option. Change it to the 1st option and then Next.

Click Install.

Click Next

Click Finish

You gonna see this kind of interfaces after finish installing.

Close the guide and switch on Hamachi by clicking the On button.

After you already switched it On, it will ask you to create and account. To proceed please create and account. Just put in any account name then click Create.

After you clicked the Create button, your Hamachi will look like this. Your hamachi will probe and sync itself.

Yeah now got yellow squares. You need to do nothing. If the 0.0.0.0 change to any other figure it means that your hamachi account is successfully created. You can also see your account name below the figure.

Now click on the networking button. A menu will pop up. Then click on join an existing network if you want to join a network.

In order to join a network, you need to know what is the network name and its password, the other network must also use Hamachi. After you already inserted the name and password click Join.

If you successfully joined a network, your interface will look something like this, maybe with few other more connections.

You can also create a new network so that others can join you. In order to do so, please click the networking button and choose create a new network.

15.1.2.

Put you desirable network name and password. Then click Create. In order to make people join your network, you have to give them your network name and its password.

After finish installing and setting, you can now play games with other people from any parts in the world by using the multiplayer options.

I understand that some you guys will noticed that the Hamachi icon in the system tray keep on flashing. So to make it stops, follow this steps....

1.

Right click on the flashing Hamachi icon. A menu will pop up then choose New Message.

A new window will pop up asking you to set a Master Password. Click Yes.

Insert the field with your desirable password. Make sure the new password box and confirm password box have the same password. Then click Change.

A new message box will appear stating that you have already set your master password. Click OK.

Ok, now you can use Hamachi with no problem.

Red Alert 3 Crash Fix

Ok guys, yesterday I played this game from the Soviets 1st mission until its 5th mission. Suddenly the game crashed at the end of the mission (exited to the desktop by itself). It supposed to proceed to the next mission because I already completed the objectives. I tried to restart the game and still the same thing occurred. So I googled around and I found that I am not the only one experiencing it.

There's a crash fix for this game. Something gotta do with the patch. So I downloaded the crash fix and yes it worked successfully. So please feel free to download :).

Oh btw, if you dunno how to apply the patch to the game, just simply copy the files and folders to your game directory after you unzipped it(default dir C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Red Alert 3).

Wow this thing is hot. I will add 2 more links for you guys (RS and Megaupload). You only have to download 1 of the files below. Not all of them...

It will uninstall itself...

Vantec NexStar Hdd Docking Station

I'm anxiously looking forward to test this item. At first, I thought that the color was white and guess what?It is black. It will look great with the blue LED indicator. Awesome ha! Received the item a few hours ago and the item is working fine. Thanx to the seller.

Now...it is easier for me to transfer files from my computer to another sata hdd. The most important thing, this docking station support eSata which enable you to transfer files up to 3GB/s transfer speeds. Lucky me, my motherboard has an eSata port :P. The only problem that keep on bugging me is there is no plug and play with my eSata. I had to restart my pc each time I inserted a new hdd. Bummer ! Not a big deal though, the item is bundled with an USB connector. I will only use eSata to transfer large files :).

I'm back again !

Today, I would like to show you how to make your own straight and crossover cable. It is so freaking simple.

Things that you need :

1. A crimping tool

2. A Cat5 UTP Cable

3. A Cable Tester

4. RJ45 Clip

The price is between RM0.30 - RM0.50 per pc.

Additional tools:

1. Wire Cutter
2. Scissors

Let's make a straight cable. There are two color codes standards for the Ethernet cable (T568A and T568B). As for me, I usually use the T568B standard.

T568B Color Codes:

Starting from your left:

1. Orange stripe
2. Orange
3. Green stripe
4. Blue
5. Blue stripe
6. Green
7. Brown stripe
8. Brown

* After finish arranging the color points (wires), make sure you cut it to the same length.
* Make sure the RJ45 clip is pointed away from you (as shown in the picture).
* Make sure all those colored points, are inserted correctly into its own layer (inside the RJ45).

Next....

1. It's time to use your crimping tool. There is a RJ45 slot on the tool. Put the RJ45 inside there, and crimp it until you hear a "click" sound. If you don't hear it, just pull it out (if you think it is crimped enough).

2. Now, make the other end of the Cat5 UTP cable with the same color codes. DIY please.

3. If everything is done, then you need the tester. Put both ends inside the RJ45 slot on the tester. Switch it on. Now you can see the LED starting to blink from 1 to 8 (accordingly). If you can see all the LEDs blinked from 1 to 8 meaning the cable is perfect. If you don't, you have to start from the beginning. Check the RJ45 clip and the color points !! Make sure each color point layers are clean and make sure both ends are using the same color codes (IF straight cable).

T568A Color Codes:

1. Green stripe
2. Green
3. Orange stripe
4. Blue
5. Blue stripe
6. Orange
7. Brown stripe
8. Brown

* Can you see the difference? It is similar to T568B, but the only changes are:

1. Orange stripe----------------- 1. Green stripe
2. Orange ---------------------- 2. Green
3. Green stripe ------------------3. Orange stripe
4. Blue ------------------------- 4. Blue
5. Blue stripe --------------------5. Blue stripe
6. Green ------------------------6. Orange
7. Brown stripe ------------------ 7. Brown stripe
8. Brown ------------------------ 8. Brown

Lol, I hope you can figure it out yourself unless you are color blind... :P

Next is the crossover cable. To make a crossover cable, use T568A and one end and T568B at the other end....

Installing Windows XP from Scratch

Ready to format your own computer? DIY
Firstly, enter your Bios setup. Usually, you can enter Bios setup by pressing the Delete button. However, it may vary depending on your system. Usually, branded computers uses some different buttons to enter its Bios setup. If you are not certain on how to enter your Bios setup using your branded computer, you can view few solutions here. If you still cannot enter the bios setup, please read your f**king manual or consult your vendor.
After you already enter the bios setup, look for the Boot tab. Enter the boot tab and choose CD-ROM, or DVD-ROM as your first boot device and put Hard Drive as your second boot device. Interface may vary depending on your system.
Save and exit your bios setup by pressing F10. Again, it may vary depending on your system!
After you exited the Bios configuration, please make sure you Windows XP CD is in your CD/DVD Drive. Now, please pay attention on your screen because your system will be booting from your CD/DVD drive.
You will see a prompt that says, Press any key to boot from CD. So..please press any key, otherwise it will continue booting from your second boot device. If you missed this step, please reboot again or press CTRL+ALT+DEL.

Next, you going to see this screen,
Just watch it proceed to the next screen....
Now you are in the comfort zone. Starting from this point, you only need to follow all the instructions on your screen. Press Enter to setup Windows.
Nahh, you do not have to read the stupid crap, just press F8 for I agree to proceed to the next stage.

The system will now search for an installed operating system. If another operating system is found, the next stage will be like this.....
Press ESC, install a fresh copy of Windows XP. After you already pressed the button, it will show you the list of partitions that you have. If you want to delete the partition, press D and follow the instructions.

If you are using a New Hard Drive without any partition or any operating system or if you already deleted your partition, your next screen will be like this....
If you want to create a partition, For example, let's create partition C and D, let's say the space of your hard drive is 16379MB. Now, press C to create a partition and enter the amount of space you want for that partition, let's say 10000MB.
Press Enter to create the partition. After you have created the partition, select the unpartitioned space and press C again to create the next partition. Now, you can use the maximum space to create the last partition and press Enter. Now, there are 2 partitions on the list; C and D. Ignore the 8mb unpartitioned space. You can create more partitions if you have more spaces.

Now, select partition C and press Enter, it will ask you to format the partition. Use the default selection. Format the partition using NTFS file system and press Enter. Then, sit tight and watch the process.
After pressing the Enter button....
It will format and copy files from your CD/DVD drive. If theres a file that cannot be copied, please make sure that the CD is not scratched or dirty. If there are too many errors in copying files, it might point to a RAM or motherboard problem. Your system will restart after the formatting and copying process is complete.

Please remember that this time, you do not have to boot from your CD again. Your system will prompt you to boot from CD, just ignore it or you can change your first boot device to hard drive.
You will see the Windows XP boot screen, and when it enters, it will configure your settings for several minutes and a window will popup
You can change the regional and language options if you want to, but to make it easier, just click Next
Enter your Name and Organization. It is okay to leave the organization's field blank. Click Next.
Enter your product key and click Next.
Enter your computer name (if you want another name instead of the default name). You can also leave the password's field blank and click Next.
Set the date, time and your time zone. Click Next.
This stage may vary depending on your system. Some systems might skip this stage. Choose typical settings and click Next.
This is the last stage before you complete your installation. Name your workgroup or just leave it as Workgroup and click Next. The installations will take about 25-45 minutes depending on your system. It will restart after the installation is complete.

It will now prompt you again to hit any key if you want to boot from CD. Just ignore it.
Boot screen....
If everything is ok, you will see a message box just like the picture shown above, click OK to continue.
Just click OK will ya?
Uhm click Next :)
You must enter a name of a user for this Windows. If you are too lazy to figure out a name just put it as "User". Then click Next.
It will then ask you to register with Microsoft. Uhm choose No, not at this time.
Finally, click Finish and you are in your new Windows Xp. Tada......
See...it is not that difficult right? Lol

Guys...this is an awesome software. You should try it. This is a software that converts .pdf file format to .doc. This software convert PDF to Doc and preserve the original layout of your PDF in an editable Word document. It also preserve the originality by identifying paragraphs, text labels, graphics, tables, and flow of columns etc. and then replicate it within Microsoft Word.

I was encouraged by my friends to add this thing called "Google AdSense" to my blog. I already put it for several days, and nothing happened. I didn't manage to get a cent from Google. I don't blame Google for that because in order to earn money from Google AdSense, you site or blog must be viewed by lots of people. I don't really think that my blog has been viewed by lots of people lol.

Okay..enough of that intro crap. Here is the thing. Some people think that Google AdSense might be interesting, but not for me. Take a look at its policies:

Can somebody tell me how to reset the "profile view" counter?

I don't really know whether my posts were being read by people out there, but my profile has been viewed 45 times since I created this blog. I might be blogging in English but I will certainly use my mother tongue language if necessary or where i see fit.

I'll be adding few widgets in my blog which I might do it later. Kinda busy today configuring my windowblinds theme, finding the right skins for desktop and Winamp are quite difficult. Catch y'all later.

Wow, it has been a while since my last post. So let's start again, shall we?

Honestly, I am not interested in sharing about my private life or my daily journal here...with the public. So, I decided to write about something else. For example, in my last post, I spoke about Singapore which I think it got nothing to do with my private life and it certainly DAMN sure not interesting.

It is quite difficult to write about something which is not important and not interesting to me. A friend of mine asked me, "Why do people always blog about their life and their surroundings?" I didn't know what to tell him. Perhaps, he didn't know the answer either...because he then continued, "Why don't they write about something that interests them?" Aha !!

I think the reason why I left the blog for so long is because theres nothing interesting to write about. I want to write....but I have nothing to write about. How's that huh? Lol

So...I finally decided to blog again, but now I am gonna write about something that interests me. At the moment, there are two things that interests me the most. The first one can be considered as "private" and the second one I would be happy to share.

I wanted to share about my personal knowledge, views and anything that relates to a computer and its system. I will continue later. Got something to do right now. So c ya....
